Gerry Tiede

Chairperson, BC Teachers Pension Fund

Gerry Tiede has been a Trustee of the B.C. Teachers' Pension Plan since 2001 and currently serves as Chair. He is also a member of the Benefits and Communication Committee, the Interplan Education Committee and the Interplan Investment Committee which he chaired for the past four years.  The Teachers' Pension Plan is jointly trusteed and provides pension and related benefits to about 85,000 members with assets of $14.2 billion.
 
Gerry is a retired school principal and has held elected positions on the Surrey Principals' and Vice Principals' Association and the B.C. Principals' and Vice Principals' Association.  He is currently a member of the Executive of the BC Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Teachers' Pension Plan Advisory Committee.
 
Gerry hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology (SFU) and a Master of Education Administration (WWU).
