Sustainable Forestry

Promoting the preservation and sustainable use of Canada’s forests is the focus of our engagement on sustainable forestry.

In partnership with the Ivey Foundation, SHARE encourages companies that are large consumers of forest products to use fibre and paper products certified to the standards of  the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), which outline stringent environmental and social requirements for forest management. We also support the use of papers with higher recycled fibre content.

In addition to our forestry work, we encourage companies that have operations in Canada’s boreal forest to reduce their operational footprint and minimize their impacts on the sensitive ecosystem.
